Insights Proposal Manager
Finch Brands seeks an experienced, high energy Insights Business Development Manager to help us continue to grow the insights community business. This is a specialized offering within our firm and demands a sophisticated and consultative sales approach.
An essential member of the business development team, facilitating the development of proposals and updating sales content and case studies. This role requires strong business writing and insights/research skills to effectively communicate with leadership and produce high-quality and persuasive written materials.
Main Duties:
- Manage proposal creation – creating timelines and content requirements, leveraging resources (internal and 3rd party) while continually improving the process. Leverage research expertise to define right insight methodology in partnership with leadership and bring that to life (proposal and pitch) to win new business.
- Understand, manage and/or contract resourcing, sample, recruitment, platform, facility incentive cost drivers with 3rd party suppliers.
- Develop Proposals: Support all phases of the proposal writing process to create compelling, compliant and tailored content for various proposals.
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with sales and insights leadership to develop persuasive bid content that incorporates win themes, strategies and differentiators.
Scheduling and joining all new insights intake calls for operational support and documentation of client needs/objectives to inform proposal development. Ensuring “best fit” leadership voices are involved/invited to the call. - Write Persuasively: Craft clear, persuasive and creative sales content that inspires action.
- Simplify Complex Concepts: Communicate complex concepts through easily understandable written narratives and graphics.
- Ensure Consistency: Validate style, message consistency, grammar and terminology of bid content to ensure a unified voice across all written materials.
- Update Content: Keep content current as new solutions and case studies are introduced or changes are made.
- Support Visuals: Collaborate with the design team to create and update graphics that support the response narrative.
- Manage Tasks: Update the team on task progression, proactively follow up on content completion, and perform work within specified response and turnaround times.
- Develop Best Practices: Contribute to the development and maintenance of best practices, boilerplate material, templates, case studies and style guides.
- Utilize Tools: Leverage SharePoint for collaboration, document control and upkeep of boilerplate and other proposal library materials.
- Improve Processes: Contribute to process development and ongoing process improvement efforts.
- Engage with Community and Insights teams: Participate in internal trainings and learning sessions as a liaison with the research team.
- Works on defined tasks that sometimes require the application of independent judgment. Developing individual contributor.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Market Research, Communications, Journalism, Business or a related field.
- 2 – 5 years of experience in proposal writing. Experience in proposal writing market research/insights preferred.
- Ability to transform complex ideas into easy-to-understand, well-organized written content.
- Strong command of English language structure, readability, spelling, grammar and consistency of voice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with precise attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects from beginning to end.
- Excellent research and information gathering skills.
- Ability to form successful relationships and collaborate with internal teams.
- Interest in learning about competitors, industry trends
- Ability to vary working schedule and hours to meet deadlines as needed.
- Experience in the service industry appreciated
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), DocuSign and Adobe Acrobat.
