CHALLENGE

Deeply rooted in men's tailored clothing, Joseph Abboud delivers apparel, accessories, personal grooming products, and home furnishings. Following a buyout and placement of new leadership in 2004, the new JA Apparel Corp. found itself in need of a clarified position and role in the marketplace and a pathway to accelerate profitable growth.

SOLUTION

We conducted extensive research into the consumer, channel, and market that revealed influences, habits, and shopping preferences as they relate to fashion and style. We then leveraged these dramatic insights to design the Joseph Abboud brand platform and drive the company's transition from men's suit maker to fully integrated lifestyle brand.

RESULTS

The company doubled its profits from 2003 through 2007 and increased licensing revenues by more than 500% based on the definition, focus, and power it was now able to promote to licensee partners. In 2007, having solidified its connection with trade partners and existing customers, Joseph Abboud turned to us once again—this time as their creative agency of record—to bring the brand to life and drive growth.
