Strategy & Insights Manager

Finch Brands, a real-world brand consultancy, is seeking a Strategy & Insights Manager, to lead a diverse workflow of client engagements that span insights, brand strategy, and design amongst a range of industries.

This role is client-facing and serves as a key point of contact on complex, multi-faceted branding engagements. Overall, this team member must be comfortable working with data and a demonstrated ability to translate insights into strategic direction to solve brand and business questions. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Strategy & Insights Team (quantitative & qualitative) to define and execute learning plans, insight-driven brand strategies (personas, messaging, positioning, purpose, mission, values, brand architecture, product service offerings, innovation, etc.), communicate with brand design teams (visual identity, brand collateral, advertising, etc.), and coach more junior members of the team.

Main Duties:

  • Client strategic leadership – helping clients think through research and strategy needs and outputs to meet business objectives. Partner to development winning insights-driven brand strategies and/or marketing programs.
  • Account and project leadership – the “go-to” for all client related needs and questions while ensuring delivery maintains in scope, on time, and of high-quality.
  • Research leadership – crafting learning plans and research instruments of varying complexity and carrying research through the process end-to-end. This includes the development of compelling research stories with clear insights and actions
  • Research application – collaborate with the team to ensure data is smartly collected and applied. Help “connect the dots” and drive toward big picture insights – and story tell the “what”, “so what”, and “now what” of research.
  • Design guidance – act as a touchpoint for Design team as brand strategy is brought to life creatively.

Candidate Attributes:
  • Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fields spanning business, marketing, advertising, psychology, statistics, or sociology
  • 3-5 years of experience in either client or supplier-side research, brand, marketing, or strategy role – demonstrates growth and forward progress
  • 1-2 years of experience managing research projects related to brands, products, or consumer behaviors/attitudes
  • Ability to perform multi-task in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple major client projects at once
  • Ability to design, draft, and program questionnaires, mod guides, and other research activities - both qual and quant
  • Flexible and solution-oriented
  • High proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and MS Excel are an absolute must - including data manipulation, formulas, lookups, formatting, and chart creation
  • History of working in the trenches in data analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis programs (Such as MarketSight, Q, R, SPSS, etc.) required
  • Be able to push storytelling to include ‘the what, so what, and now what’ of research
  • Experience/excellent using data to effectively tell stories in PowerPoint and other formats
  • A natural curiosity regarding brands and business with a focus on delivering results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Manage client priorities and expectations as well as resource allocation/workload within teams with a strong attention to detail
