Solutions Development Manager

The Solutions Development Manager is responsible for directly supporting the business development team and account team leads in winning new business and growing existing accounts.

The Solutions Development Manager will play a key role in business growth and will have the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership. They’ll assist with screening potential new client opportunities, shadowing sales leads in capturing the needs of potential clients, collaborating internally on solution/scope of work development, and drafting proposed approaches. They’ll also play a role in the operations side of growth, including tracking pipelines, drafting contracts, and managing relationships with the finance team.

This role will work directly under the head of business development and gain exposure to all areas of Finch Brands’ business, including Insights, Strategy, and Design. This role also will have tremendous career development potential due to the experience gained internally across the business and external exposure to client opportunities.

Main Business Development Supporting tasks:

  • Support prospecting strategies, optimization, and execution
  • Qualification of inbound leads/opportunities
  • Shadowing/supporting sales leads in new opportunities and pitches (this role will have exposure to watching Sales leads execute pitches and as they continue to learn and grow, they will be offered opportunities to play an active role)
  • Internal collaboration on solution development and positioning directly with senior leadership or account leads
  • Proposal drafting, pricing, and editing
  • Case study development and maintenance

Main Operational tasks:

  • SOW development and contracting
  • Working directly with the Finance team to close new opportunities
  • Forecasting Finch Brands’ sales pipeline
  • Sales opportunity/progress tracking

Required Experience and Skills:
  • As a mid-level role, 3-5 years of experience is required.
  • Recent experience working in or supporting business development at a research, advertising, branding, design, or consulting agency is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Knowledge of pricing and pipeline tracking and forecasting is not necessary but is a plus.
  • Interest in market research, branding, innovation, and business is a must.
  • Organization, initiative, and attention to detail are critical.
  • Passion for growth with an interest in playing a larger role in business development.
