Senior Brand Strategist

Finch Brands, a real-world brand consultancy, is seeking a Senior Brand Strategist to manage an important and diverse workflow of client engagements. In this role, the candidate will lead complex, multi-phase marketing research and brand strategy engagements.

This role is client facing, and serves as the primary point of contact for client strategy and market research needs. This is a critical role on the team and is ideal for someone with foundational client side brand / marketing / insights experience (3-5 years of brand marketing  or consumer / customer insights experience).

The role is ideal for candidates who seek to expand their skills to become a stronger marketing and strategy generalist with a research focus.  In this role you will build on your existing skills by learning and applying expertise in primary marketing research (quantitative & qualitative), high-level brand strategy (purpose, mission, positioning, product service offerings, pricing, etc.), marketing planning, and managing brand design (visual identity, brand collateral, advertising, etc.).  Research will cover a range of quantitative and qualitative topics and methodologies, and this role must be able to understand, prescribe, plan and analyze research that drives forward the strategies of Fortune 500 and start-up clients alike across a variety of industries.

This role is ultimately responsible for the quality of all deliverables and satisfaction of the clients.  The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and be able to demonstrate experience with projects ranging from multi-phase research plans to qualitative explorations, to brand research, and feel comfortable playing the role of strategy consultant for clients who may not understand their research needs, or how to interpret and act on findings.

We’re looking for someone with a high motor and a high ceiling who can grow into a leadership role in time through outstanding performance.

This role is highly visible within both Finch Brands and client engagements, with frequent interaction with firm leadership. The role will report to the VP of Brand & Marketing Strategy.

 

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Candidates will have a Bachelors or Masters degree in fields spanning business, advertising, sociology, or statistics
  • 5-7 years experience in either client or supplier-side research or strategy role
  • 2+ years experience managing complex multiphase research projects related to brands, products, or consumer behaviors/attitudes
  • Ability to perform at a high level and multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
  • Have a high standards and abilities regarding data visualization and storytelling techniques
  • Project management- ability to handle multiple strategy/research projects at once

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Account and project leadership – the “go-to” for all client related needs and questions while ensuring delivery maintains in scope, on time, and of high-quality
  • Client strategist- helping clients think through complex research/strategy needs and outputs
  • Ability to perform and multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle multiple major client projects at once (average 5-6)
  • Experience in developing winning brand strategies and/or marketing programs
  • Significant analytical ability with comfort working with data and an interest in managing quantitative and qualitative research projects
  • Proven experience and a natural ability to “connect the dots” and drive toward big picture insights
  • Experience managing complex projects with design deliverables from idea through execution
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
