Creative Director

Finch Brands, a real-world brand consultancy, is seeking a Creative Director with a strong foundation in copywriting and design to manage a diverse workflow of client engagements that span insights, brand strategy, and design as well as a range of industries. 

This role is client-facing and serves as the senior point of contact on complex, multi-faceted branding engagements. Overall, this leader must have a high comfort working with insights and strategic direction to solve brand and business questions through captivating writing and visual concepting. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Strategy team to execute insight-driven brand strategy components (personas, messaging, positioning, purpose, mission, values, brand architecture, product service offerings, innovation, etc.) and overseeing a team of designers who execute concepts (visual identity, brand collateral, advertising, etc.). 

This role is ultimately responsible for the output of our Design team, the satisfaction of our clients, and the opportunities our excellence creates. 

Main Duties:

  • Be the bridge Generate strategic brand copy and direct innovative visual concepts.  
  • Design guidance and mentorship – act as key touchpoint for Design team as brand strategy is brought to life creatively including working with staff junior to you to develop, push, and refine creative ideas (both visually and verbally) before sharing with leadership. 
  • Coordinate with account and project managers to understand project requirements and help manage deliverables. Ability to shift across multiple projects and accounts. 
  • Client strategic leadership – helping clients think through complex strategy and design needs and outputs to meet business objectivesOversee the development of winning insights-driven brand strategies, copy, and visual concepting.  
  • Design guidance and mentorshipManaging the quality of deliverables as brand strategy is brought to life visually/verbally. 
  • Account expansion – bring a growth mindset to client relationships, expanding our opportunity to serve clients across time and need states. 
  • Corporate leadership – actively participate on the Management Leadership Team in working to make Finch Brands better across teams. 
  • Innovation – while protecting the current business, actively participate in identifying future services opportunities as we grow and evolve

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fields spanning business, marketing, advertising, creative writing, or journalism
  • 10+ years experience in client-side or agency role
  • Experience managing complex multiphase projects related to brands
  • Ability to perform at a high level and multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, handling multiple major client projects at once
  • Executive presence – as listener, collaborator, and presenter
  • Comfort and track record in growing key accounts
  • Creates positive energy through a team-first attitude – we have each others’ backs
  • A natural curiosity regarding brands and business with a focus on delivering results
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
