Content Manager / Copywriter

Do you like the word “utilize”? Good, we don’t either. We use clean, crisp, persuasive, direct copy and content with the power to inspire action. We don’t want to speak Buzzword Bingo or overcomplicate good ideas. Our ideas are shaped around the true strategic needs of our clients. We communicate with authenticity, so we can help brands win when it matters most. To do that, we must choose our words wisely. And that’s where you come in.

We are looking for a Content Manager / Copywriter to join us in the strategically fueled brand communications work we do for our clients across a wide swath of industries. You will be responsible for elevating the caliber, consistency and economy of words we use to convey the essence of our clients’ brands and the stories they tell to compel their stakeholders, team members and customers. We are looking for team members with broad interest and a generalist capability set, including short and long form writing, and with an ability to summon a wide variety of styles depending on client, industry and application.

Your canvas will include all vehicles in our clients’ brand communication arsenals:

  • Internally Facing – such as statements of purpose and mission, positioning documents, personas, brand books, and customer experience playbooks
  • Externally Facing – such as brand and product names, taglines, blog posts, white papers, websites, videos, brochures, campaigns, and all the rest.

And you will also support Finch Brands’ own content development efforts (we’re our own best/worst client) – including case studies, social media posts, website copy, and beyond.

In sum, you will have the opportunity to compose and/or collaborate in the writing that drives the precision and potency of the full suite of deliverables we are counted on to author.

You get bonus points if you have the following qualifications:

  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) capabilities, even if amateur
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • An affinity for puns

Required Experience and Skills:
  • 3+ years of copywriting experience
  • BA/BS degree in a related subject (Communication, Marketing, Creative Writing, English) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The courage to advocate, constructively, for your ideas
  • Experience working as part of a creative team, either on the agency side or in-house
  • Exceptional command of grammar and spelling, with the accountability to shamelessly Google it when you’re not sure
  • Ability to play nice with others
